Config 2025 launches deepen Figma’s design capabilities as its platform expands
Figma doubles product offering with new design and AI-powered features to help teams go from idea to shipped product, all in one place.
San Francisco, May 7, 2025 — Figma today announced an ambitious expansion of its design and product development platform during its annual Config conference. The company announced four new products, including deeper design capabilities, prompt-to-app capabilities, as well as several new features focused on helping teams go from idea to production in Figma. The company’s flagship event returned to San Francisco with an additional event in London next week on May 14, 2025.
“In a world where software is growing exponentially, design is a differentiator that will make great companies and products stand out,” said Dylan Field, CEO and Co-founder of Figma. “Our Config 2025 launches bring the power of design and AI to more parts of the product development lifecycle, helping teams to go from idea to production faster—all in one place.”
The conference, which welcomed 8,500 members of Figma’s global community to San Francisco, served as the backdrop for Figma’s most expansive product launch lineup ever:
- Figma Make: An AI-powered prompt-to-code tool that turns written descriptions or existing designs into working prototypes or apps, helping users at all skill levels quickly explore and iterate on ideas.
- Figma Sites: A product that allows designers to build and publish dynamic websites, with limitless interactions and customizations powered by code and AI.
- Figma Draw: A set of tools in Figma Design with enhanced vector editing and illustration features for greater visual expression and higher-craft design.
- Figma Buzz: A product designed for brand and marketing teams to create visual assets at scale without compromising brand consistency, featuring built-in AI capabilities.
- Enhanced AI Features: Advanced image generation and editing capabilities, auto-suggest features to speed up workflows with contextual cues, plus new AI capabilities for FigJam.
- Grid: A new option to create responsive layouts that adapt seamlessly to designs and generate CSS code in Dev Mode for smoother design-to-dev handoff.
All products and features will begin rolling out to users over the coming weeks. Download visual assets here.
"With these launches, we want to make it possible for everyone to contribute meaningfully to the design and development process,” said Yuhki Yamashita, Figma’s Chief Product Officer. “From AI-powered tools that allow people to visualize their ideas and make them real, to code and more expressive vector editing features that help designers push the limits of their craft, we’re excited to bring these new capabilities to Figma’s platform and see what our community builds next.”
In 2015, Figma transformed product design, unlocking a more open and collaborative way of designing apps, websites and other digital products. The Config 2025 launches reflect Figma’s continued expansion to serve the entire design and product development process. Today’s launches join Figma’s existing products, including:
- Figma Design, where teams explore, iterate, and prototype digital products.
- FigJam, an online whiteboard for teams to meet, brainstorm, and get work done.
- Dev Mode, a tool to bridge the gap between design and code.
- Figma Slides, a tool for designers and collaborators to co-create and deliver interactive presentations.
Approximately two-thirds of monthly active users in Q4 2024 identified beyond traditional design roles, with around 30% self-identifying as developers.
Figma also announced a complete localization for the Brazilian market, including full product translation, culturally adapted user interfaces, and dedicated Portuguese language support. This localization joins Japanese, Spanish, and Korean, and represents Figma’s continued global expansion, with approximately 85% of Figma monthly active users in Q4 2024 located outside the United States, and over 50% of revenue coming from non-U.S. markets in 2024.
The company, which now employs more than 1,600 people globally, maintains its headquarters in San Francisco with additional offices in New York, London, Seattle, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Singapore, and Sydney.
